Michael Buser

Dr. Michael Buser is a Senior Director at Zumera, started on March 1, 2024. He is a distinguished expert in financial institutions, technology, and the deep-tech sector.

With over 15 years of experience in banking, Michael previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group, where he advised leading financial companies, particularly international Tier-1 and Tier-2 banks, on strategy, pre-merger projects, and post-merger integrations. His expertise extends to risk management, regulatory compliance, treasury operations, process optimization, and IT solutions. He is particularly adept in market risk, credit risk, derivatives, data analytics, artificial intelligence, block chain technology and quantum computing.

Earlier in his career, he served as a front office risk manager in the capital markets division at DZ Bank in Frankfurt, one of Germany's largest banks. In this capacity, he managed capital requirements and risk on a daily basis, performed pre-deal calculations, and assessed regulatory impacts on the business.

Dr. Buser holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Ulm, Germany, where he also conducted postdoctoral research in General Relativity and quantum physics. Additionally, he has a Master’s degree from the University of Texas, Austin (USA), and a Master's in Business and Finance from the University of Ulm (Germany).
